My Inspiration

My inspiration to watch what I eat came solely from my Uncle. He is a fantastic cook and knew a lot about nutrients and its effects on the body. At the time in my early twenties I had not realised the impact of my uncle’s knowledge until about ten years ago. I found myself giving the same advice without even researching it intensely however it became quite apparent that what people ate showed up in their bodies, behaviour and the ability to think, even the aroma that excreted itself through our pores was a direct result of what we consumed as food.

I was taught to eat freshly prepared foods and an absolute” No No” to packaged or microwave food with a shelf life of two years for example. My Uncle would call ready made foods “Dead Food” All natural nutrients were dead in packaged foods and the artificially added nutrients that the labels had boasted came with added risk to an already starved body of natural living foods.

I soon grew a fast interest in the importance of natural foods when I notice the rapid decline in home cooking in favour of junk food. It was quite simply "Taste over Health" when the lifestyle of eating out was no longer a luxury  for the well off, people excited themselves with their new found status and forgot the importance of what our Mama taught us.

Being a young woman exploring my choices I soon became aware of the lifestyle in the western world at least where were facing obvious decline in health and mind. I was determined not to go down that road.
